week 25, day 2
We had a lovely quiet Christmas. We decided that we'd have a Christmas to ourselves this year because after baby has arrived my parents and Coyote's family are going to (very reasonably) want to see the little one at Christmas. We had a really lovely Christmas, Coyote cooked very nice food and I helped (I'm a terrible cook, but I try very hard to help, I do the peeling and chopping side of things) and got lots of nice presents and completely failed to go to church to sing carols after we both got massive insomnia the night before and were just too tired for it. I have been having horrible problems sleeping recently, I think it's partly a pregnancy thing, in that I get thirsty a lot, but also need to pee a lot, so I'll just be drifting off when I either need to go to the bathroom or get a drink, which is annoying. It's probably also just the time of year, long dark nights leaves me at the same time sleepy and restless.
We got some nice presents for baby! Some very pretty and cute clothes, a couple of baby blankets and a couple of adorable teddy bears! She's not even born yet and already getting things! I can't wait till baby is actually old enough to understand Christmas and to get to do all the exciting things like writing a letter to Santa, and leaving carrots out for the reindeer...my mum always used to make Christmas so special, I can't wait to take on that mantle and get to make it special for my little one.
My stomach continues to expand at an alarming rate, though all the lovely food probably isn't helping that. Apparently as of the next time I see the midwife, she's going to start measuring my stomach to see if baby is growing and developing as she should do, so if she isn't growing fast enough I'll be sent for more scans, so we're actually keeping my fingers crossed for continued expansion.
So far I seem to have avoided stretch marks, to begin with I moisturized my stomach every day, until I found out that there is really no evidence that says that it helps, whether or not you get stretch marks is probably just genetic, so I'll just have to keep hoping.
anyway, merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone!
