I think...I think...we nearly have everything we need for baby...most of the stuff we have bought has been 2nd hand, especially the clothes because baby is going to grow out of things so quickly, and we have some very kind friends who have given us a bunch of stuff we need.
We have a:
- changing mat
- changing table
- baby bath set (including a little towl and a sponge and a top and tail bowl)
- Moses basket
- Moses basket sheets
- baby blankets
- baby sleeping bag
- car seat (we don't actually have a car, but it will probably come in handy)
- baby carrier (the kind you can use from birth, but then transforms and you can use it with them facing outwards when they get older)
- cot
- cot mobile
- scratch mittens
- little hats
- warm new born clothes (jumpers and cardigans and coats)
- cooler new born clothes (light tops, skirts, and leggings)
- many many many many baby grows of different thicknesses and colors!
- baby socks
- booties
- some nappies
- cot mattress (we should be able to cope with a Moses basket for a while, and can't really buy a mattress until the room is finished and we can actually build the cot)
- cot bedding (we can't really get any until we have the mattress so we know what size to get)
- maternity bra's (though hopefully I'm getting some next week)
- breast pads (is it possible to get away with just using some cotton wool?)
- pram (we're having much internal debate about prams, we don't really have the storage for one, they are so very damn expensive and the one's you can get from new born only last the first 9 months so we're going to see if we can cope with the baby carrier for a while at least).
You should talk to Yolanda the sling lady. She hasn't got a pushchair or pram and she has two children. It's perfectly possible to get away with no pram. Have a look on FB for Huddersfield sling meets. If you can't find them let me know.
ReplyDeleteAs for breast pads, you can use washable ones, which are cheaper in the long run than disposables, but you are very unlikely to get away with cotton wool. We could look for breastpads when we go bra shopping next week. xx
