Week 16 day 6
You can't massively tell from looking at me, but my bump is definitely getting bigger, and it feels a little weird, I can tell it's getting bigger because I can feel where baby is, I can feel...a sort of pressure when anything pushes on my lower stomach. I can't comfortably sleep on my front any more, and lying in bed with my laptop pressing against my tummy is also uncomfortable. It's like someone pushing on you when you have a really full bladder, only without the need to wee. It also feels the same kind of weird pressure when I have to pick up heavy things (I tried this once, before going "ohhh! that's not nice" and now Coyote has taken over lifting laundry duties) or when I have to bend over for something on the floor. It's weird, and also reassuring, baby is growing, I can tell. Baby is also busy stretching out my stomach muscles, now 2-3 times a day I'll suddenly get a shooting 'ouch' pain, that feels like your pulling a tendon or a muscle, only in my lower stomach on either side of my pelvis, it generally happens when I'm rolling over in bed. Luckily it doesn't last long, but...ouch!!!!
My hips and thighs also hurt really easily from walking, which apparently is from my body releasing relaxin, which is telling everything to relax and stop being tense to make more space for baby and so that I can relax enough to give birth. All of this is good, but I am not enjoying the old woman feeling of sore joints, or the distinct waddle I'm developing when I'm tired and sore.
I still haven't felt baby move! damnit! Hurry up and kick me baby! (you can start feeling baby move from anywhere between 16-20 weeks, so it's still early, but I'm impatient!)
