Developments

Nearly 10 months (god, wheres the time going)

Of course after writing about how Tabitha likes to scare me, I then needed to rush her into hospital...She's OK now, but it was really quite scary. We've all had a nasty virus (to call it a cold would be diminishing how terrible it's made us all feel) and it's hit Tabitha particularly hard, poor thing, we took her to the doctor and she said that she'd be fine, but to keep an eye on her because she has a touch of eczema which can be linked to asthma. a couple of days later when Tabitha woke up she was wheezing with every breath, you could hear it rattling in her chest. She seemed fine within herself, her normal smiling self, but her breathing sounded so scary...and it was the weekend, so I couldn't make an appointment with my doctor again, so I had to call 111 (non-emergency NHS number), they were very nice and helpful, and a doctor listened to her on the phone...and then insisted we get her to hospital as soon as we could. the doctor sounded so urgent on the phone...it was scary. so I rushed her to the local hospital where we were seen straight away (thank god for the NHS). Apparently babies in Tabitha's condition are called 'happy wheezers' because they can be smiling away (Tabitha really turned on the charm for the doctor) but making horrible wheezing noises. She was prescribed some asthma medication for her to use till she's better. and she's going to be OK, but she managed to scare me again!

In other news...Tabitha has her first tooth! its taken a while for it to turn up, then suddenly, there it was! a shiny white top front tooth! and it looks like a 2nd top tooth is on its way. She's very good at letting me brush her tooth, I turn it into a game with airplane noises and tickles.

She has also learned to crawl! I predicted that she'd learn to walk first, but apparently she got too frustrated not being able to get to her toys so she learned crawling. She's still not very good at it yet, she'll crawl a very little way and then shuffle a bit and then sit up and bottom shuffle, but its a very effective way of moving round the room. She has also started pulling herself to her feet without any help. She was sitting at my feet playing with toys (she really likes sitting there, it makes me feel mean, but its how shes happy) and then she grabbed my trouser leg and stood up! she's done it a handful of times since, she's so clever!

My little baby is getting so big!
